S&S Builders is looking to hire an experienced mechanic. A Mechanic is primarily responsible for the upkeep and repair of equipment in an efficient manner. They work with the Maintenance Manager to perform the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles. They may be asked to assist in the development of the company maintenance procedures and processes for repair and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles for their location. This person is responsible for being cost-conscious and efficient with company supplies and purchases of parts. Opening is a full-time position with benefits. •Performs routine maintenance of all vehicles and equipment per maintenance schedules.
• Documents all maintenance performed on each piece of equipment, small tool or vehicle.
• Assists with purchasing of inventory and parts, tools and supplies for maintenance department.
• This individual may have the responsibility for assisting with the operation of the specialized paving equipment and must monitor and adjust the ground controls on the machine.
• Takes responsibility for following safety policies and procedures while performing tasks.
• Schedules appropriate inspections and testing necessary for the monitoring of equipment.
• Participates in training classes as scheduled.
• Ensures that the shop is kept clean and complies with OSHA regulations for storage of chemicals and other safety measures.
• Makes repairs to equipment and vehicles either on jobsites or at the shop.
